OpenSea Review 2022
Are you a fan of bitcoin, ethereum and blockchain technology? Have you been looking for the perfect entry point into this new phenomenon? If yes, then one of the best ways to get involved is through the purchase and trading of digital assets known as non-fungible tokens (NFT). OpenSea is an NFT marketplace that originated in 2018.
OpenSea is a market that allows users to buy and sell digital items. Items listed on the site consist of anything from crypto kitties or other collectibles to rare skins for games like PUBG, Fortnite and Destiny 2.
OpenSea Key Takeaways
Pros
You can list your items in 30 seconds and host sales
Cons
NFTs are not as well known
Reputation and Funding
The OpenSea team formed in August 2018. The company is backed by investors like Outpost Capital, Binary Financial and Coinbase Ventures. It's currently looking for funding on CoinList.
Complaints Received and
At the time of writing we found no complaints about OpenSea online. We also reached out and will update this review
Reputation and Funding
There are currently no reviews of OpenSea online, so we did some research and reached out to users who have experience with the platform. The following section provides examples of what people are saying about their experiences using it.
" I've been participating on OpenSea for a few months now and it's a trusted platform with a nice community. You can find some rare items there. " - Bob on Reddit
" OpenSea is a great place to buy, sell or interact with crypto items. It's an important step forward in gaining mass adoption and there is so much potential in the future. " - Tam on Reddit
Design and Interface
OpenSea has a simple interface, although it would be better if you could search for items with categories. It's easy to use but there is the possibility of someone using OpenSea to sell inappropriate items like Nazi paraphernalia.
Registration Process
You must be at least 18 years old to use OpenSea. There is a signup form that asks for your name, email address and password. You also need to provide your phone number in case there's a problem with your account.
OpenSea Wallet Connections
OpenSea does not offer its own wallet. You need to connect your wallet through Metamask or another compatible solution.
Security and Fairness
OpenSea uses SSL encryption for added security, although it doesn't say anything about account safety on its site. It's also a newer company with no complaints online at the time we wrote this review
OpenSea Mobile App
OpenSea does not currently offer a mobile app.
OpenSea Customer Support
We were unable to find OpenSea support online. It would be better if there was a contact form or FAQ page that users could refer to in case of an emergency.
Conclusion
A marketplace like this is important in helping NFTs gain mass adoption. It's user-friendly but does not offer its own wallet, which means you must connect your wallet through a compatible service like Metamask.
